There are dogs who love you…
and then there are dogs who choose you.
Murtaugh is the second kind.
At just two years old, this chihuahua mix has already perfected the art of devotion. If you’ve ever wished for a constant companion who thinks you hung the moon, keeps tabs on your every move, and believes that sitting next to you is the highest form of happiness… well, Murtaugh has been training for that role his entire life.
Murtaugh is what his fosters lovingly call a “velcro dog,” but not in a clingy, chaotic way.
More like… a quiet little presence at your side. Your shadow. Your tiny, loyal witness to everyday life.
He’s happiest when he can see you, be near you, or better yet… curl up right next to you. Whether that’s on his dog bed, your recliner, or tucked into your bed like he pays rent, he’s simply content being part of your world.
This boy is smart. Like… “Amazon delivery equals crate sprint” smart.
The moment something exciting happens, he dashes into his crate and waits patiently for his reward like it’s his full-time job. It’s equal parts impressive and hilarious, and honestly, it’s the kind of party trick that never gets old.
He’s also a fantastic car companion and has recently discovered that rides = adventure. Windows down, ears perked, living his best life.
If you’ve been meaning to walk more, jog more, or just get outside consistently…
Murtaugh is about to become your most enthusiastic accountability partner.
Rain or shine, he’s ready. And somehow, he makes it feel less like a chore and more like a shared mission. You’ll both be better for it.
Murtaugh thrives in a home where someone is around often. Not because he’s destructive or demanding, but because his happiest place is simply with his person.
He would do best in a home:
But truly, his dream scenario?
A human (or two) who wants a deeply loyal, loving companion by their side.
His foster family describes him as having the biggest heart. The kind of dog who doesn’t just live in your home… he settles right into your life.
The kind who watches you, follows you, chooses you…
and quietly becomes your everything.
Murtaugh is house trained, neutered, and up to date on vaccines.
All he’s missing is his person.
If you feel that little tug in your chest reading this… that might be him.

And if you find yourself lingering on these images a little longer than expected, you’re not alone. There’s something about that connection—the quiet moments, the way they look at you—that stays with you. It’s exactly what I aim to preserve during my Evening Garden Sessions, where we create artwork that feels just like this: honest, calm, and deeply personal.
