(And honestly… they have notes.)
Some clients wake up early for coffee.
Some wake up early for flights.
And then there are the truly committed…
Like Inky and Ravi, who crossed state lines for a sunrise session in the tulips.
We sat them down for a quick interview to understand their motivations, their travel strategy, and whether it was all worth it.
Terri: So… you drove all the way here for tulips. Why?
Inky:
I was told there would be snacks.
Ravi:
I was told there would be fields. Endless fields. For sniffing.
Also snacks.
Terri: How was the road trip?
Ravi:
10/10. Would recommend.
We supervised navigation. Poorly.
Inky:
There were several stops. None of them fast enough.
Terri: And then… sunrise. First impressions?
Inky:
Suspicious.
Why is it cold? Why is it early? Why are we doing this?
Ravi:
And then the light hit.
(long pause)
Ravi:
Okay yeah… I get it now.
Terri: Thoughts on the tulips themselves?
Inky:
Colorful. Not edible.
Would not roll in.
Ravi:
Very aesthetic.
Excellent backdrop for my face.
Terri: You both did amazing during your session. Any tips for other dogs?
Ravi:
Trust the process.
Also, look directly at the camera like you have secrets.
Inky:
If you hear a squeaky noise, it is your moment.
Terri: Final question… was it worth the trip?
Inky:
Yes.
But mostly because I am now famous.
Ravi:
Yes.
Because this?
(gestures vaguely at tulips, light, entire cinematic situation)
This doesn’t happen at home.
Here’s the thing…
It’s not just about the tulips.
Or even the photos.
It’s about that quiet, slightly magical window of time where the world is soft, the light is unreal, and your dog is right there with you… ears perked, eyes bright, fully present.
And sometimes, that’s worth getting up early.
Even worth crossing a state line.
Sunrise sessions are here for a short time—and they’re every bit as magical as Inky and Ravi suggested (even if the tulips are, in fact, not edible).
