Late summer rises tall in the hop fields of the Willamette Valley.

By August, hop bines—twining vines that climb tall trellises—form long green corridors filled with ripening hop cones.

It is a season of deep green, warm light, and a harvest drawing near—an unmistakable part of summer in the Valley.

Among the Hops

Bella sat confidently between the towering rows of hops, dressed for the occasion in her signature pearls. Around her, tall green bines caught the last warm light of the evening while hop cones hung beneath the leaves.

Small in stature but impossible to overlook, Bella looked entirely at home in the heart of the Valley’s late-summer landscape.

Bella’s Story

After losing her soul dog, Bella’s future mom wasn’t sure she was ready to open her heart again. Then Bella came running down the hallway. In that moment, the uncertainty disappeared—Bella was meant to be part of the family.

Bella had spent much of her earlier life confined to a kennel and used for breeding. She arrived with little confidence and much to learn about life inside a loving home, but she gave her whole heart from the beginning.

Today, Bella is her mom’s shadow and the companion who helped heal a shattered heart. They were exactly what Bella needed—and Bella was exactly what they needed.

Every Story Begins Somewhere

Every dog featured in the Colors of the Valley 2027 Calendar has a story.

Many of those stories found a new beginning through 4 All MuttKind Rescue. Because someone opened their home. Someone opened their heart. Someone believed every dog deserved the chance to belong.

Bella arrived when her family’s hearts were still broken. With love freely given from the very beginning, she helped make them whole again.

They were exactly what Bella needed. And Bella was exactly what they needed.

That’s the story we’re celebrating.
