Bellz Beneath the Hazelnut Trees

Bellz Beneath the Hazelnut Trees

Summer settles quietly beneath the hazelnut trees of the Willamette Valley.

By July, the orchards are filled with broad green leaves and clusters of hazelnuts beginning to form. In the older orchards of Mission Bottom, moss-covered trunks twist toward the light while long rows disappear beneath the leafy canopy.

It is a season shaped as much by shade as color—deep green overhead, soft grass underfoot, and brief patches of sunlight reaching the orchard floor.

Beneath the Hazelnut Trees

Bellz settled easily into the quiet shade of the orchard. Beneath the broad green canopy, she stretched out in the grass, wandered between the moss-covered trunks, and paused whenever a patch of summer light found its way through the leaves.

With one ear standing tall and the other doing entirely its own thing, Bellz brought a little playfulness to the old orchard rows.

Bellz’s Story

Bellz was the last of her litter still waiting for a home. Her future human took her home simply to teach her how to walk on a leash—but Bellz had other plans.

Within two days, her sweet, quiet spirit had made the decision easy. Bellz wasn’t going anywhere. She was already home.

Every Story Begins Somewhere

Every dog featured in the Colors of the Valley 2027 Calendar has a story.

Many of those stories found a new beginning through 4 All MuttKind Rescue. Because someone opened their home. Someone opened their heart. Someone believed every dog deserved the chance to belong.

Bellz was only supposed to stay long enough to learn how to walk on a leash. Two days later, her sweet, quiet spirit had found exactly where she belonged.

That’s the story we’re celebrating.

Next in the Valley → Meet the next 4 All MuttKind alum as Colors of the Valley continues through another season, another place, and another unforgettable dog.
