Jax and Theo Beneath the Balloons

Summer arrives boldly in the sunflower fields at Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm.

By August, rows of towering green stalks and bright yellow blooms stretch across the farm. Overhead, hot air balloons add great blocks of red, orange, blue and gold to the morning sky.

For Jax and Theo, it was a larger-than-life beginning to a story about two rescued dogs—and the family they found together.

Among the Sunflowers

Jax and Theo explored the winding paths between the sunflowers, pausing together beneath blooms that towered over their heads.

They brought two very different energies to the field: one watchful and reserved, the other always ready to add a little commotion. Together, they were exactly themselves—steady companionship with a side of chaos.

Jax and Theo’s Story

Jax and Theo both found their way home through 4 All MuttKind Rescue, but they arrived by very different paths.

Theo came from a hoarding situation with many other dogs. He remains fearful and approaches the world carefully, finding safety in the people and dogs he trusts.

Jax came from a California shelter and brought something entirely different with him: laughter, mischief and a talent for keeping everyone on their toes.

Together, they have become family—one learning that he is safe and the other making certain life never gets too quiet.

Every Story Begins Somewhere

Every dog featured in the Colors of the Valley 2027 Calendar has a story.

Many of those stories found a new beginning through 4 All MuttKind Rescue. Because someone opened their home. Someone opened their heart. Someone believed every dog deserved the chance to belong.

Theo came from a life that taught him to be afraid. Jax arrived ready to bring laughter and keep everyone on their toes. Together, they found a family willing to love each of them exactly as they are.

That’s the story we’re celebrating.
