Today marks 2,507 photos per day. I started the day we got sent home to work because of the pandemic. I wanted to bring a little joy every day when life was so uncertain. Two thousand five hundred and seven days later, posting a photo a day still brings me some joy.
This week: Lucy in the fall gardens, an antique settee’s new look, and a little Halloween magic—with Hondo still hoping to conjure up a family of his own.
Saturday nights are best spent with a friend. Hondo is looking for one to spend all his Saturdays with.
He’s the big guy. Roxy, his foster sister, is keeping him company until someone swipes right.
Know someone who could use a little Hondo in their life? Contact Farm's Pet Services to meet him.

“Just checking. The recipe DOES say ‘a little dog hair,’ right?”
Hondo and Roxy stopped by Transylvania to help brew up a little magic. This big puppy has such a gentle soul—and we’re hoping his next adventure comes with a family of his own.
Roxy has her people. Hondo is still looking for his.
Interested in meeting him? Contact his foster mom, Cassie, at Farms Pet Services. And please share—let’s help this boy conjure up a home.

When we remodeled the studio, we decided it was time to give the antique settee a makeover, too. We dropped off a dingy antique at Cherry Hill Upholstery and picked up this beauty.
Sverre, the shop dog, was not included. I checked.
A big shout-out to Cherry Hill Upholstery for giving this old piece a beautiful new life. Rumor has it that it will be making its first cameo appearance in holiday photos.

A big thank-you to Lucy’s Aunt Linda for bringing her over for portraits today. We spent time in the gardens, with a short detour through Transylvania. Quite an itinerary for a Tuesday.
The gardens are absolutely lovely right now, and Lucy made herself right at home.

We were on the hunt for the mushroom house at Galen McBee Airport Park. Before we began our search, Tony stood sentinel at the gate of autumn.
A little scouting, a little exploring—and perhaps the first page of a new edition of Colors of the Valley.

This tiny sorcerer has also been asked to brew something for the rest of us: hope.
A paw of courage, a whisker of light,
A place to be safe through the longest night.
May kindness gather, may fear release,
May every doorstep welcome peace.
Keep your people close. Look after your neighbors. Leave a little room for hope.
